It is a matter of great pride to be the torch bearer of a century old institute which was established in the year 1908. I am greatly rejoiced and proudly place on record the fact that since its humble inception with a two year certificate course in weaving, one of the oldest textile institute of the country has now become a multidisciplinary engineering college.

Education is the manifestation of love and my most cherished possession. Education drives away ignorance and through illumination it emboldens a man to a righteous thought and action. It empowers a woman and enlarges the horizon of her mind. It energizes a society and enables a man to earn his living with respect and praise. Hence my love for it.

Today, due to the rapid social and technological changes taking place around us, the global economy is experiencing unparalleled transition. The educational scene is being revolutionized by advancements in science and technology, the media explosion, the internationalization & digitalization of education and the ever-increasing competitive world. A paradigm shift has now been observed in higher education, from 'National Education' to 'Global Education', from 'Teacher-centric education' to 'Learner-centric education'. The Indian higher education system has a new task and a challenge to ensure that the nation and the world have a broad, qualified human force at all levels, having breadth of knowledge and confidence to effectively confront the social and economic realities. Hence there is a growing need for quality engineers who can think proactively and apply themselves to solve problems in an ever-changing world. Owing to rapid social and technological changes taking place around us, there is increasing need for quality engineers who can think creatively; apply their intelligence to solve problems and to create new designs and products for the ever changing world.

Our mission is to mould highly competent technical professionals with wide range of analytic, strategic and leadership skills capable of facing the challenges of the technical world. We accord prime importance to the behavioral discipline, moral integrity and cognitive developments of our students.
